Ministry Opportunities Children’s Ministries
Nursery/Preschool Director
The Nursery/Preschool Director would oversee these two vital ministries and would be the “front person” to the parents and kids. This person (preferably a female) would be the lead volunteer for the ministry and would work alongside the Children’s Pastor to make this ministry better. Responsibilities include setting up, tearing down, communicating with parents and children, recruiting and rewarding other volunteers, and making sure the classrooms are staffed and clean. This is a weekly commitment and would probably include 2-3 hours during the week for a brief meeting with the Children’s Pastor and contacting families.
Nursery/Preschool Leader
Here is a great opportunity to share the love of Jesus with His youngest children. The Nursery/Preschool Leader would work with and supervise the babies and toddlers. Responsibilities would include doing crafts, overseeing play time and snack time, registering new families (Preschool) changing diapers and loving on babies (Nursery). This is a 2-3 times per month commitment (1st and 2nd Sunday OR 3rd, 4th, and 5th Sunday) or a weekly commitment if that is what you desire.
Preschool Bible Story Teller
Share an amazing Bible story to the preschoolers about how much God loves them. The kids will look forward to seeing you every week knowing that they will have a good time hearing about Noah, Moses, Jesus, and all the men and women of the Bible. We are looking for two people to fill this position, one for each service. This is a weekly commitment and may require 1-2 hours of work during the week to prepare the Bible story.
Children’s Ministry Small Group Leader
Have you ever wanted to lead a small group but were intimidated? Try being a small group leader for 3rd-6th graders! We are looking for men and women to invest in the lives of our young children and share the love of Christ to them. Every Sunday morning we will use a portion of the meeting to get together in small groups to discuss what was learned from the worship and message. We need men to lead a small group of young men and we need women to lead a small group of young women. Because of the importance of consistency in a kid’s life, this is a weekly commitment.
Children’s Ministry Worship Leader
Would it be great to lead children in worship every Sunday? We are looking for someone to lead worship for our young people. This can be playing a guitar and singing or leading while playing worship music in the background. This is a weekly commitment and may require 2-3 hours per week preparing the songs.
Children’s Ministry Master Storyteller
We do have someone covering this position for the first six months but we need a permanent person after they leave. This person would tell a Bible story every week to the kids in a creative fashion. They would adapt the curriculum given to them by the Children’s Pastor. You can also be involved right now by being a character in a story that the Master Storyteller is giving. You would also train under the current person for the six months that he is here. This would be a weekly commitment and may require 2-3 hours per week to prepare the lesson.
Children’s Ministry Registration
This is a crucial part of the Children’s Ministry. This will be the first impression that new families will have of the ministry. Responsibilities include checking kids in, having parents fill out registration cards, putting wristbands on kids, and being the “face” to the ministry. This is a weekly commitment and may require 1-2 hours during the week to write postcards and make phone calls to new families.
